Riegersburg Castle has the reputation of being one of the most popular excursion destinations in Styria, not only because of its impressive location, but also because of the valuable partners who provide action and variety on the grounds.

CASTLE HILL SCAVENGER HUNT FOR KIDS
Castle ghost Rüdiger has hidden 7 signs with letters in the gates along the castle path.
Collect all 7 letters, use them to form the solution word and pick up a small gift at the visitor centre (valley station) or in the castle shop!

CASTLE GHOST FRIEND BOOK RALLY
BIRD OF PREY SHOW
Visit the bird of prey station Riegersburg. An impressive and highly professional flight demonstration with birds of prey awaits you. Learn more about the high art of falconry and get to know the kings of the air up close.
Flight demonstrations daily (except in case of heavy rain):
Monday through Saturday: 11:00am and 3:00pm
Sunday and public holidays: 11:00am, 2:00pm and 4:00pm
Admission to the respective air show at the earliest ½ hour before the start!
CLIMBING ON THE VOLCANIC ROCK
The only via ferratas in Eastern Styria are located directly on the volcanic rock where Riegersburg Castle was built.
Climbing Routes:
1) Leopold Via Ferrata, 170m (C) 40min
2) Extension, 60m, (D/E) 10min
3) Heinrich Via Ferrata, 190m (C/D) 60min
4) Charlotte Via Ferrata, 150m (E) 40min
5) Gallerin Roof, 20m (E/F) 10min
The via ferratas are just a few minutes' walk from the castle path in the town of Riegersburg. Equipment (only in combination with a guide) and more climbing tours are available from Naturbursch Riegersburg.

PATH THROUGH THE CENTURIES
The interactive tour with 46 stations extends across the castle hill and can be explored in any order.
At each station, bilingual German-English panels provide information. The QR codes on the panels can be scanned with a smartphone to access additional information online.

Along this geo tour, you'll find 26 castles and palaces with hidden treasures (caches) waiting to be discovered. If you visit them all and complete the entire tour, you can unlock a souvenir in your geocaching profile as a reward.
